Hernia hiatus

Nope, not a typo; but a pause in my circumnavigation while I head home to get a hernia fixed that I developed while crossing the Pacific.  I got off lightly compared to some; but it’s still a nuisance and means I will miss the race to Panama. I’m hoping I’ll be done and recovered in time to rejoin Garmin for the Canal transit.

It was very strange watching her sail away without me today, and for the next few weeks I’ll have a taste of what being a crew supporter is like. I’ll also be keeping the Garminions Facebook page updated, so follow it if you dare…

Whilst on the theme of links, if you fancy dressing to match, there’s a Garmin crew supporter t-shirt available, designed by Charlotte Willis (Leg 7 & 8 and chief Garminion Facebook poster). They’re actually slightly better quality than the crew ones, with embroidered official Clipper Race 15-16 and Garmin logos on the front and back:

Each polo shirt sold (£22) includes a donation to Unicef as part of the Garmin charity challenge. So you’re supporting Garmin and raising money for a great cause.
