Weirdly we always finish at night when we get a podium place (or vice versa, I suppose).
Our drag race up the east coast of Australia concluded with a drift-off through the beautiful islands of the Coral Sea, odd wind-shadows and strong currents playing havoc with everyone’s tactics and the smooth seas a bizarre contrast with the rollers of the previous few days; but, in the end, it was the familiar line-up of LMAX, GB and Garmin across the line.
The whole fleet has made good time due to unusual southerly winds, so we’ve arrived in Airlie beach a couple of days early, but no-one’s complaining about that…
